The State of Utah has a free resource available to all students called Shmoop!  Click here to visit our Counseling Center website page dedicated to the ACT.  We also have a link to Shmoop! (including the magic word that you'll need to get signed up - TOPAZ) and links to other ACT information and test prep materials.  Additionally, the official ACT website has free test prep materials for online practice, including:  study guides, individual subject practice questions, practice tests, and other online classes.

Below is a brief description from Shmoop! about what is included in their online exam prep:
  • Two diagnostic exams — There's always room for improvement, and our diagnostic exams will help you find that room quickly so you can target your strengths and weaknesses.
  • Four full-length practice exams — Our exams mirror the construction of the actual ACT as closely as possible
  • Fun and thorough review of all sections of the exam — You want jokes? We've got 'em. You want in-depth breakdowns of every possible question type you might see on the ACT? We've got that too. That's probably a little more important.
  • 1000+ practice questions — We're seriously up to our eyeballs in practice questions at Shmoop HQ; it's getting harder to find our desks.
  • Individualized skill reports and statistics —Want to track your progress over time or identify an area that needs a little more work? Look no further than our fancy reporting features.
  • Test-specific strategies — Get the inside scoop from Shmoop on all the secret tips and tricks that'll help you ace the ACT.
  • Video explanations — We've heard a picture is worth a thousand words, so a video must be worth at least as much as a Tesla.
