Profile

Ms. Geibel is originally from Maryland, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Biology with Minors in Chemistry and Music from Bowie State University. After graduation, she managed dental offices, was a scientist who ran a dosimetry laboratory, and the director of sales, marketing and business development for a federal contracting firm. When she decided to make a change that provided the opportunity for a better work/life balance, she went back to school and earned her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Notre Dame of Maryland University. This has allowed her to bring her plethora of real-world knowledge and experience to teaching the future scientists of the next generation.

Ms. Geibel has taught a multitude of various secondary science courses in Maryland, Georgia, and Utah and is in her 14th year in education. Having just moved to Utah during the summer of 2025, Ms. Geibel now teaches AP Physics, Physics, Astronomy, and Earth & Space Science at West Jordan High School and all credit recovery, grade replacement, and original credit courses for Chemistry and Physics at Kings Peak High School (through the Jordan Credit Center) for Jordan School District. She is known for her extensive experience in writing science curriculum for every district she has worked, being on multiple science content teams for the Utah State Board of Education, her membership and participation in local and national science education associations, and being a science content and simulations reviewer for the University of Colorado.

In Ms. Geibel’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with her sons and dog, water activities, reading, singing, dancing, performing with her local community orchestra, visiting museums, attending concerts and cultural events, and building her professional practices through educational conferences and workshops.
