Profile
Mrs. Sorenson discovered her place in agricultural education through FFA while she was a student. At a time when she wasn’t sure what her future held, agriculture classes and FFA gave her a place to belong and helped her discover a path forward. That experience continues to shape her approach to teaching today. She hopes to create a classroom where students can explore new interests, discover what they are capable of, and maybe even find their own place and future along the way.
Now in her fourth year of teaching in Jordan School District, Mrs. Sorenson believes some of the best learning happens by doing. Her classroom is hands-on, and she loves giving students opportunities to tackle challenges, work together, make mistakes, and figure things out. Outside of the classroom, she is an FFA advisor and works with students competing in events including Floriculture, Agricultural Mechanics, Forestry, and Horse Judging. She also raises future guide dogs through Guide Dogs for the Blind, so students may meet a four-legged learner who is working on some important skills of their own!
