Profile
Ms. Sassman leads the Culinary Arts, ProStart, and Nutrition and Dietetics programs at West Jordan High School. A registered dietitian for nearly 20 years, she has worked in acute care hospitals, pediatric facilities, international development, military organizations, and as a community college instructor. After earning her Associate Educator License in 2023, she joined WJHS as a proud Jaguar educator. She is passionate about guiding her students to build lifelong personal and professional skills while exploring the world through food.
Originally from Fairbanks, Alaska, Ms. Sassman now proudly calls Utah home, though she still loves traveling back to her Arctic roots. Her husband also works for the Jordan School District, and together they have three daughters, ages seven, nine, and thirteen. Their family stays active with soccer, theater, camping, swimming, music, and, of course, cooking and baking!
